South Yorkshire Talking Together

South Yorkshire Talking Together is a regional initiative to support children’s speech, language, and communication development in South Yorkshire. The four Local Authorities within the region, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster & Sheffield teamed up with South Yorkshire Futures – Sheffield Hallam University’s social mobility partnership – to support the region’s children develop these critical life skills.

Client Brief

TEST Creative were appointed as the agency to develop the brand and website for this project. Working directly with Sheffield Futures and the four local councils, we developed a series of branding options followed by the development of a website that provides a comprehensive resource tool for professionals and parents alike, looking to develop their understanding and skillset within speech, language and communication.

The Project

Over a 6 month timeline we collaborated directly with Sheffield Hallam University and key stakeholders from each of the four councils to develop the branding, marketing assets, content and website design for both South Yorkshire Talking Together and Tiny Talkers respectively. We led the project management of this directive with close support from the Sheffield Futures team to ensure the launch of the project in late 2021.

Website Launch

The website needed to incorporate a number of functionalities specific to the project itself; including a self-assessment tool that would generate useful information links for user who needed to increase their experience and knowledge of speech, language and communication. Each local council was also provided with content areas of their own to provide content for and our design and development provided the appropriate umbrella for this complex series of content pieces to align.
