Celebrating 15 years of Kada Research

Fifteen years of research. A new way to tell the story.

We worked in partnership with Kada Research to create a website that celebrates its first 15 years in business and gives its people, expertise and growing body of work the space they deserve.

A business milestone is a good moment to take stock: of the work delivered, the relationships built and the direction ahead. For Kada Research, its 15th anniversary offered an opportunity to bring that story together through a new website.

Having designed Kada’s previous site, we were pleased to work with the team again. This time, the brief was shaped around a consultancy with a growing team and more than 100 published case studies: a substantial body of evidence to celebrate and make easier to explore.

A design shaped together

We developed the website in close partnership with Kada, refining the layout, content and visual details through conversations and feedback. The team brought an understanding of its clients and the questions they ask; we translated that into a design that helps visitors find their way through the business.

That collaboration shaped everything from how services and expertise are explained to the way projects and people appear across the site. The aim was to reflect who Kada is today while recognising the experience it has built since 2011.

Putting the work centre stage

The case studies became a central part of the experience. Together, they tell a richer story than a list of services could on its own, showing the breadth of Kada’s research and the different organisations, places and challenges it has worked with.

We gave the project library a more visual presentation, with image-led cards and a choice of grid or index views. Filters for client type, service and policy theme help visitors find work relevant to their own priorities, whether they want to browse or have a particular question in mind.

We also brought case studies into the Expertise page. Carefully selected examples sit alongside the relevant areas of knowledge, drawing from across the archive to show depth beyond the most recent projects. Visitors can move naturally from reading about an expertise area to seeing it in practice.

Connecting people, places and businesses

Kada’s three themes — empowering people, shaping places and transforming businesses — provide a clear thread through the website. We used them to organise its expertise and help visitors understand how different areas of the consultancy’s work connect.

A separate “What We Offer” page explains the services clients can commission, from research and economic analysis to strategies, appraisals and evaluations. Giving services and expertise their own space helps make a complex offer easier to understand.

A confident expression of the brand

Kada’s orange-to-pink gradient and distinctive theme colours gave us a strong starting point. We carried those colours through the design, pairing clear typography and generous spacing with custom icons, subtle movement and consistent page layouts.

The people behind the research are part of that story too. Refreshed profiles and a consistent portrait treatment introduce the team, while an animated grid on the homepage gives visitors a glimpse of the people they could work with.

Across desktop, tablet and mobile, the design brings the same focus to the work: clear routes into projects, readable content and straightforward ways to get in touch.

Celebrating the milestone, looking ahead

The finished website gives Kada a place to celebrate 15 years of research, analysis and advice, and room to share what comes next. Its existing project history sits alongside a refreshed presentation of the team and its expertise, ready to grow as new work is published.

It has been a pleasure to shape this next chapter with the Kada team. The result reflects both the breadth of the business and the care that went into building it together.
