The Blue Harbour Project

Their mission, to combat the escalating issue of plastic pollution in UK waterways, while also enlightening and empowering the next generation through educational initiatives on environmental care.

Mission and Educational Outreach: The mission of The Blue Harbour Project transcends the mere cleanup of waterways. It is a comprehensive approach that combines direct action with an extensive educational outreach programme. The project recognises that lasting change comes from an informed and engaged community. Thus, it invests heavily in educational initiatives aimed at enlightening the public, especially the youth, about the importance of environmental stewardship and the devastating impacts of plastic pollution. These educational programmes are designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to make a positive impact on their local environment.

Client Brief and Website Development: To effectively communicate its mission and engage a broader audience, The Blue Harbour Project collaborated with us to create their new website. The brief was clear: to design a contemporary, user-friendly website within a tight timeframe. The client's choice for a Community Interest Company (CIC) highlights its commitment to social good over profit, aligning perfectly with the ethos of The Blue Harbour Project.

Website Features and Design: The outcome is a succinct, yet compelling one-page WordPress site, developed swiftly over a few weeks. This website, though modest in size, is robust in content and functionality. It strikes a fine balance between aesthetic appeal and practicality, ensuring that visitors are not just drawn in by its visual charm but are also compelled to engage with the content.

Visual Appeal: The website employs high-quality imagery and video content that vividly portrays the essence of The Blue Harbour Project. These visuals serve a dual purpose: they draw attention to the severity of plastic pollution and simultaneously celebrate the beauty of UK waterways, reminding visitors of what’s at stake.

User Engagement: Despite its simplicity, the site is rich in strategic calls-to-action (CTAs). These CTAs are thoughtfully integrated throughout the site to guide visitors towards meaningful engagement, whether it's learning more about the issue, donating to the cause, or signing up as a volunteer.

Information Dissemination: The site efficiently provides visitors with essential information about the project, its mission, upcoming events, and how to get involved.
